Al Fresco Dining...At Last

The weather has been so crazy this year (you get that kind of thing just before an impending Ice Age...yes I said Ice Age...read your geologic history over the last million years). Our "windy" season has gone on two months longer than normal. We are cooler than normal. It's crazy.

As a result tonight was the first night that we've been able to eat outside for dinner (al fresco is an Italian term for eating outside...I think). We're hoping that this is finally the end of the incessant winds. And we're hoping for rain.

We've been eating al fresco quite frequently since the addition of the tiki room. We couldn't tonight though. It's raining again. Down-pouring. Coming down in sheets. Mark very helpfully announced, "It's pouring out."

we rarely eat outside, since even in a drought it is cold and rainy most of the time in the Netherlands.

In a week we will finally have the chance to eat 'al fresco' with our new house. We've been good on rain in STL. Hope you get some good rain down there!

I plan on going patio table shopping today in attempt to experience this "al fresco" you speak of.
