Asia Mega Tour II - Bali...Going Native...Raja Style

It is now Sunday. We arrived in Bali on Thursday evening. We got out of the house for the first time this morning. What did we do Friday? What did we do Saturday?

What would you do if you were suddenly taken out of your comfortable world, self-reliant world and thrown into a world where you are in a beautiful locale, with all the help you could want to do just about anything you'd want? That's right you'd stand up and say "No, I am a self-reliant person, used to cooking, cleaning, driving, shopping, fending for myself. I don't need or appreciate this kind of sybaritic lifestyle."

So you can be sure that the ever, self-reliant, go it alone, standup for himself de-I would...CAVE LIKE A BELGIUM BEFORE A GERMAN WORLD WAR ARMY!

First let me give you a picture of where we are.

Our Humble Abode
Humble abode comes with a staff of three - a housekeeper who oversees the house, shops, cooks, clean, does laundry, gives massages (great massages for $11 each), calls the doctor and sets up appointments for them to come to the house for you, etc. She has an assistant. And there is a gardener/pool guy. Then there is a driver that is not on the staff but available as needed...important as you are way up on a narrow, third world driving road.

The what we would call a 'Great Room' is all open to the outside

As is the upstairs hall and dining area

The downstairs dining area looking toward the separate gazebo type structure (there's a name for it but I forget what it is) and an infinity pool

Views of the ocean and town below

An upstairs living area

Sample of breakfast served at the upstairs dining area
Last guest who insisted on doing everything themselves
Me hard at work on a call back to the US
