Yi! AinA, you speak the truth for verily you are THE priestess of the Magical Unicorn Pony God of Travel.
Indeed for while I was wiling away my 3 hour wait at the Red Carpet Club (a secret temple of the Magical Unicorn Pony God of Travel), eschewed the lousy free glass of wine they gave me and bought the premium wine (a very nice Malbec I might add) for $12 bucks - certainly a sacrificial price.
Hence when I got to the gate of the replacement flight and they too said there was a mechanical problem! I wasn't worried. I had made the appropriate sacrifice and we only ended up being an hour minutes late (12:45 AM instead of 11:45 PM).

I'm glad you got home.
And I appreciate the information you share on the Magical Unicorn Pony Travel Gods, particularly as I'm headed out to a conference in Omaha this weekend.
You don't need to go to a fancy red carpet club to pay homage to the travel gods I think. As long as your prayers are really earnest (which in my experience they are usually quite heartfelt when they are needed!) :)
Could have been much worse, but at least you got to hang out in the red carpet club. I'm a member of the NO carpet club currently due to the flood.
I have yet to read the post that inspired the "magical unicorn pony god of travel" remark. Heading there next. Just had to stop by this post first because I thought your blog had been spammed with crazy blog titles!
Glad the ol' Unicorn was able to see you through! Way to sacrifice!
