2016 Asia Mega Tour - Getting There

It's been over 24 hours since we left home and I'd like to tell you that we're in Hong Kong, our first destination...but we're not. We still have a couple of hours wait and another two hour flight.

Oh Supernatural Dragon Lord of Frequent Flyer Miles why do you torment me!

5:30 AM in the Albuquerque International Sunport for our 6:15 first flight

Goodbye dawn over New Mexico

Our plane - the always fun Canadair 700 - It was dark

What the hey? Serving food on a domestic coach flight!!!!
And please notice that it is stroopwafel.
(I did try the warming it over my coffee - it didn't work)

Heading over the Sierra Nevada

To our next change of planes

Where we are going to...

On a big plane in business class with lie flat seats

They say that one should avoid alcohol to reduce the effects of jet lag
We don't

13.5 hours of blissful air travel later

Hmm Airports look pretty much the same around the world

And from where we are right now.
The EVA Airlines Star Club

ONLY 3.5 hours till we get to destination (plus going through immigration, getting bag, going through customs, and finally getting to our final destination).

And we all ask - why haven't the physicists invented transporters yet?

I have to say I quite liked seeing all the photos of the steps! 13,5hr on a plane is super long. I'd upgrade too !

May I also share I had a tortilla with egg as a snack on my flight back from the UK this Friday?? Food cultural exchange!!
