We
spent most of the day just catching up on rest and getting things set up for
the arrival of others. We needed
to do some more shopping to get things provisioned for everyone. We went into the town which is what
they call one of the “white towns” of Andalucía because they are mostly totally
whitewashed and date back to the Moorish time period. We were looking for a butcher and fruit/vegetable
alternative to the grocery store.
Success with the former but not the later. We also almost got caught in the middle of town where they
were setting up to do some kind of local festival with folks on horseback,
wagons pulled by ox and horses, and everyone dressed up in finery.
This caused backups on the roads and
threatened to shut down the center of town area we were in. So we got everything we wanted, went
back to the grocery store we originally went to and did our shopping there.
This
was followed by cooking so there was something to eat when people arrived. Doing laundry. Catching up on email and the blog. Everyone was coming down from
Madrid. They all underestimated
how much time it would take to get here and got lost trying to find it. I had tried to call folks and email
them but most did not of communications that were working in Europe. So two out of the three groups finally
arrived before it got dark. That
was good because there is no way that anyone could find this place in the
dark. The other was so late that
they stopped in Malaga for the night at 1 AM before arriving here the next day.
