6:00 AM
The sun is just coming up. It is an overcast morning.
Our apartment overlooks the absolute center of the city along the Douro River. This is not a part of the city that gets going early.
Mr. Sandman patiently awaits the port tasters of the day.
But as we get to 7:00 AM activity begins
The river cruise ships start to receive their passengers
The (one and only) water taxi starts operating
Vehicles start making their way to the waterfront
Around 8:00 AM the gloom is burning off. The sun is higher and the colors are brigher.
More activity and the gondola starts
9:00 AM The day is in full swing
Our apartment is the center building the second balcony up
There is literally no shopping that is not a serious hike up or down with one exception...
The wine and spirits store!

I guess it is liquid diet while you are in Porto. No one would blame you and the name of the town suggests many explicitly go there for that purpose.
Too bad there's no grocery delivery...
