This morning was hiking morning. Hike twice a week, 5 miles as part of my overall conditioning program.
We're having unseasonably cold weather. It is 6:45. I walk outside. I am ready to go. I have my boots on and am dressed. Just need to eat something and be on my way. The wind is blowing. It is 44 degrees.
Ah the vision of my younger self arises. Hiking in all kinds of wind and cold. Master of the elements. Macho. Tough. Driven.
I return to the house and take a hot shower instead.
And in the process of showering discover that I forgot to take out my hearing aids. Fortunately no permanent damage came to them.
This is the reality.

:), yup
maybe you weren't feeling it today! Age, sure. But I know many young adults who'd do exactly the same.
And take the shower with their hearing aids still in?
If it makes you feel any better ... Once the snow is gone, I try to take walks around the pond at work at least once a day. Over the past couple of weeks, we've had some sunshine and temps that reached as high as 80 degrees! In typical Minnesota fashion, last week the weather took a dive again. Fifty degrees and clouds (and some rain) meant I refused to set foot outside.
Pfffff, I did this on Sunday. Got all ready for a long run, mentally prepared myself to get it done. Shoes on and ready to roll!! Got down the elevator, walked down the hallway and seen that it was raining (nothing too bad and I could of still ran). I turned right around, went back upstairs and ate some unhealthy food. yummmmm unhealthy food...
