As with our arrival back in August in Warsaw, we got a great deal in points for the biggest part of trip home. But it meant leaving from Brussels, Belgium and spending a day there. Brussels was the first stop of Wife and my honeymoon trip in 1974. We'd not been back since. And with our photographic passion, we were looking forward to another day like in Madrid of action filled photography.
Unfortunately, the Northern European weather did not cooperate. It was drizzly and cold. We shifted gears and focused on having a splurge meal (something we do rarely on our trips) as there were Belgian specialties I'd not had in in decades (details in upcoming foodie post). And once we'd eaten, the weather had improved enough that we did get a bunch of picture taking in.
Although it was dreary, we were able to get some nice color in the area around where the restaurant was

The always popular picture of someone taking a picture
In the area around the Opera
Some say modern opera has gone to the birds
Woman feeding pigeons
This wasn't just some random feeding. She had a motorbike with a big bin of bird seed on it. She was bringing large quantities to the feeding site. One got the impression that she did this in other areas as well
One of the most colorful cross walks I've ever seen in a city (or anywhere else for that matter)
I really was ready to get with AI to find out more about this genre
However, it turns out it is just the name of a restaurant

On the Grand Place
It is all very grand
Working with the dark wet environment around the Mont des Arts
Warming ourselves with Coffee
Yes, that is a little waffle next to it
There is scaffolding and there is scaffolding. The true architectural scaffolding makes it look like there is no work even being done on the building
