One of the highlights of a Melaka visit is taking the Melaka River Cruise particularly at night when the river is lit spectacularly. This opened the opportunity for attempting picture taking under the difficult conditions of very bright lights in a dark environment while in motion! Actually the motion part was far more significant than we anticipated. The Melaka River Cruise isn't a leisurely cruise along the water. It is more like a rally race where they had to cover the course in a certain amount of time. This added increased movement of the boat, exacerbated when other boats passed by causing us to rock over their wake.
Arrival
We got to the center of old town in short order, the crowds being way less than the Christmas weekend. It was still light out. We had time to kill.
Ambiance
A replica of the Portuguese ship that brought the invaders (it also sank on the way home because the leader was so anxious to get his loot back that he pushed the ancient ship beyond its limits).

Candid People Photography
Hadn't tried this in years. But since I had the time, I decided to give it a go.

(We have discovered that Wife's weird lime juice actually had a salted prune in it. Is a Malaysian specialty!)

I am guessing that salted drinks are an acquired taste. But they seem like a clever invention for a country where one would sweat a lot.
I am super curious what salty cola tastes like. Sweet and salty, that could be good?
