In Tahoe Home

As is our way of doing things, we are renting a house in the Lake Tahoe area where child #1 and her clan are meeting us for a long weekend.  The drive to Tahoe was uneventful.  It's about a 17 hour drive with Las Vegas Nevada almost exactly half way so we left on Thursday, spent the night there and then went on to Tahoe.  The drive from Las Vegas to Reno and on to Tahoe was a new one for us and it was interesting going through the Nevada desert which is very different from the high desert of Northern New Mexico.  Makes New Mexico look lush!

Having done lost of these rentals you always are in for some what of a surprise but you learn to go with the flow and we love the fact that there is some much room, privacy, and quiet compared to a hotel.  For a group as large as ares, it is very economical as well compared to a hotel with equivalent quality because we cook our own meals.

Let's go on to the house.  The drive out to the house was one of these mazes of mountain roads (seem to notice any pattern here with past rentals?)

Arriving at the house there is nothing that impressive to look at

Walking through the Front Door

And into the Great Room

Living Area to the Left and Kitchen Area to the Right

On to the Bedrooms.  There are mirror image sleeping areas on either side of the house with a bathroom for each.

To our area where 1.1 is in the other bedroom

Ours and its view

1.1's and the Bathroom

And the other side with the #1/1A Bedroom, 1.2's Bedroom and Bath

No de-I trip blog is complete without capturing the real photographer

There was adventure before we got all settled in.  It took the #1's twice as long to get here as they thought because of the crazy traffic.  They were frazzled and fried when they got here.  Then we found that the refrigerator wasn't working.  We called the rental agent who came out and couldn't get it working.  So he brought over a bunch of ice chests.  1A went out for some ice and we put all the food in there.  Then 1A got on line and did some trouble shooting.  This morning as I write this it seems to be working.
