We arrived early enough in Porto to drop off our bags in our in town apartment, and then drop off our rental car at the airport. Porto is not a very large city geographically so none of this took much time. We had time to go out and seek a meal and do some shopping. It is at this point that we encountered the reality that Porto is damn hilly!. It was a real hike down to the restaurant. The local market was closed. After dropping Wife off at the apartment (which requires two flights of stairs up), I went to another supermarket. Google said it was 500 meters away. It didn't say they were almost all vertical! I was wiped out by the time I was back.
NONETHELESS, we have a spectacular view from the apartment and we were treated to a lovely passage to night fall

It's a good thing the apartment views are all so stunning, since the hills and stairs seem to mean you'll never be leaving to roam the city...
jeeze, that is a lot of stairs. Hope you guys aren't too wrecked by the time you get here!
